Description |
Expectorants are drugs which reduce
viscosity of bronchial secretion, hence the removal
is facilitated by coughing. Expectorants are of two
types :
(a) Reflexly acting e.g. Potassium Iodide, Ammonium
Chloride, Ipecacuanha.
(b) Directing acting e.g., Potassium and Sodium Citrate,
Vasaka, Guaiphenesin, terpinhydrate, balsum of Tolu,
guaicol.

Each 5ml. Contains :Salbutamol Sulphate
Equivalent to Salbutamol I.P 2 mgBromhexine Hcl. I.P.
4 mgGuaiphenesin I.P 50mgFlavoured Syrup base q.s.Colour:
Sunset Yellow FCF.

Indications |
Bronchospasm in bronchial asthma and
chronic bronchitis. Prophylaxis in bronchial asthma.
Bromhexine is combined where mucus plugging &
other problems of expectoration coexist

Dosage |
Adults : Oral : 2-4mg 3-4 times daily.
Max. 32mg/day.SR : 4-8mg twice daily.Aerosol Inhalation
: 100-200mcg (1-2 puffs) up to 3-4 times daily. Nebulised
Soln. Inhalation 2.5mg up to 4 times daily, may be
increased to 5mg, if necessary.Children : Oral : Under
2 years : 0.1mg/Kg 4 times daily;2-6 years : 1-2mg
3-4 times daily;6-12 years : 2mgDosage of Salbutamol
