It is a bis-triazole antifungal drug
and is structurally related to imidazole derivatives.
It is fungi static in action and exerts its antifungal
activity by altering cellular membranes resulting
in increased membrane permeability leakage of essential
elements (example: Amino Acids, Potassium) and impaired
up take of precursor molecules

Composition |
Each Uncoated Tablet Contains:Flucanazole
150mg.

Indications |
Systemic Candidacies, Mucosal Candidacies
and Cryptococcus, Vaginal Candidacies, Fungal Infections
in patients with malignancy. |
Dosage |
For Oropharyngeal or Oesophageal Candidacies
200mg on the first day followed by 100mg once daily.
Maximum 400mg per day.For Vaginal Candidacies 150mg
once oral dose. Deep Seated Candidacies 400mg on the
first day then 200mg once daily for 4 weeks and for
at least 2 weeks after resolution symptoms.In Cryptococcus
meningitis : 400mg on first day followed by 200mg once
daily maximum of 400mg per day for 10 to 12 weeks. Thereafter,
200mg once daily.Neutropenic Cancer: 50 to 100mg daily |
