Amilodipine: It is a Dihydropyridine ca-antagonist with a long duration of action used for the treatment of Hypertension and Angina Pectoris. It inhibits the Tran membrane influx of calcium ions into the cardiac muscle and smooth muscle.

Atenolol: It is a relatively cardio selective beta-andrenoceptor blocking agent without membrane stabilizing or intrinsic sympatho mimetic activities. Following oral dosages of 50mg or 100mg both beta blocking and anti hypertensive effects persists for at least 24 hours because of higher lipid solubility.
